This policy explains when you can return a tool to Power Tools Direct Australia, how refunds are processed, and what happens with warranty faults. It sits alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which we do not exclude.
30-day change of mind
Changed your mind? You have 30 days from delivery to return most items for a refund, provided the tool is unused, in its original packaging with all accessories and documentation, and in resaleable condition. Return freight for change-of-mind returns is at your cost.
Some items cannot be returned for change of mind: consumables that have been opened (blades, abrasives, fixings), special-order or indent items, and gift cards.
Faulty or damaged goods
If a tool arrives damaged, is dead on arrival, or develops a fault, contact us before sending anything back. Email info@powertoolsdirectaustralia.com or call +61 420 127 022 with your order number and a short description — photos help. We will arrange the return at our cost and either repair, replace or refund.
Major failures entitle you to a replacement or refund under the Australian Consumer Law. For minor faults we may repair the item within a reasonable time. See our warranty page for manufacturer terms.
How to start a return
- Email or call us with your order number and the reason for the return.
- We issue a return authorisation and the correct return address.
- Pack the item securely — include the authorisation number.
- Send it back, or use the label we provide for faulty goods.
Refund timing
Once your return arrives and passes inspection, we process the refund within 2 business days to your original payment method. Your bank may take a further 3–5 business days to show the funds. Original delivery charges are refunded only where the item was faulty or incorrectly supplied.
Incorrect items
If we pick the wrong item, that is on us. Let us know within 7 days and we will cover return freight and get the correct tool to you on express delivery at no charge.
